GRANT OF DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION IN PAKISTAN ARMY

AS INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICERS (ICTO-2010)


1. Applications are invited of male candidates in the fields of Instructional/Staff Appointments for Grant of Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) in the Army. The candidates must be qualified from reputed local/foreign universities/institutions recognized by PEC/HEC and must fulfil the following criteria and eligibility conditions:-

BE (Software Engineering)/BSc (Software Engineering)

28 Years as on 01 May 2010.
Experience / Expertise: Candidates having strong software development background & practical experience will be given priority. Expertise in web development, web designing, OOP for SOA / Multitier Architecture, database programming (PL/SQL) in J2EE, VS. NET, ORACLE technologies would be preferred.
2. Marital Status. Unmarried/Married

3. Height. 5 Feet & 4 Inches.

4. Nationality. Male Citizens of Pakistan, domicile holders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Northern Areas. Pakistani candidates having dual nationality will initiate the process for renunciation of their foreign nationality and will give an undertaking before joining the Pakistan Army that they will complete the procedure for renunciation of their foreign nationality before completion of their training. Those failing to renounce their foreign nationality or to complete the procedure will not be granted commission. They will be liable to pay the training charges/bond money and will instead have to seek release/discharge from the Pakistan Army.

5. Registration and Selection Procedure. Candidates can either register through Internet or by visiting AS&RCs :-

a. Registration At AS&RCS. Candidates will be required to report alongwith necessary documents in original at following Army Selection and Recruitment Centres for registration / allotment of Roll No and date/time of written test etcetera:-

b. Registration Through Internet. A candidate can register himself through Internet on our website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk for preliminary test. Date and time of test shall be intimated through Internet, for which the individual should have in E-mail account.

c. Schedule of Registration / Test. Registration and Test will be held as per following schedule :-

(1) Registration - 12-16 Apr 10 (On spot registration before commencing of respective tests will also be admissible at all AS&RCs)

(2) Test - 19 - 24 Apr 10

d. Evaluation of the Candidates at AS&RCs. The candidates will be evaluated for the following at AS&RCs :-

(1) Intelligence Test

(2) Academic Test (based on MCQs)

(3) Preliminary Medical

(4) Physical Test

(5) Personality Test

e. GHQ Selection Board. GHQ Selection Board will be held at Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi for final selection of the candidates. It is mandatory for the successful candidates to appear before the board.

f. Final Selection. Final Selection will be made on merit keeping in view the overall performance of candidates. The decision of the Board will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.

g. Medical Examination. Detailed Medical Examination at CMH/MH closer their home stations.

h. Documents Required at AS&RC:- Following certificates in original alongwith three sets of attested photocopies are required at the time of registration :-

(1) Matric/FSc/BSc Certificates/Degree. In case of ?O? Level ?A? Level submission of equivalence certificate issued by IBCC Islamabad is mandatory.

(2) Computerized National Identity Card alongwith Parents/Guardian?s Computerized National Identity Card. Old National Identity Card and Form ?B? will not be accepted.

(3) 6 x Colour Photoghraphs dully attested (front & back).

(4) Inter Services Selection Board ?NOT RECOMMENDED? letter are also required for Repeater Candidates.

(5) Candidates serving in Government institutions / departments will render no objection certificate from the concerned establishment alongwith the documents listed above through proper channel if falling within the age limit.

(6) Postal Order of Rupees 100 (One Hundred ) in favour of Director General Personnel Administration (DGPA) GHQ Rawalpindi. Pay Order / Bank Draft will not be accepted.

6. Ineligibilities. Following are ineligible to apply:-

a. Already twice Screened out/twice rejected by ISSB/GHQ/NHQ/AHQ Selection Boards for Any types of commission in the Armed Forces (Candidates rejected twice by ISSB for under graduate courses are eligible for third chance if they have attained post graduate degree).

b. Previously declared medically unfit by an Appeal Medical Board.

c. Released, resigned or withdrawn from the Armed Forces or any of its training establishments on grounds of inefficiency or undisciplined / maladjustment or at own request.

d. Dismissed/discharged/removed from Armed Forces/Government Services.

e. Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.

7. Bonds. Selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 7 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of basic military training.

8. Training/Commission

a. Basic Military Training (BMT) at PMA for six months.

b. Grant of commission in the rank of Captain on successful completion of training.

c. 3 x Years of ante date seniority at the time of commission.

9. Private Coaching Centres for Tests. According to existing rules of Armed Forces, Pre-tests/training cannot be imparted by any individual or private coaching centre. GHQ PA Directorate denies any link with such illegal and unethical training establishments throughout the country. Any candidate found trained / coached in any private coaching centre, will be liable to be NOT RECOMMENDED.

10. Period and Liability of Service. Personnel granted commission under this instruction will be liable for service in any part of the world in the same manner as applicable to regular officers. They will be initially commissioned for 7 years without a reserve liability. After completion of this period they will be given an option either to go on release or continue in service for so long as their services are required.

11. Eligibility for Grant of Regular Commission. Suitable officers will be eligible for the grant of regular commission in Pakistan Army.

12. Prospectus will be provided on payment.
